Claude and Codex API Credit on PerkShelf: Gateway Keys Explained
Token packs and dollar-credit keys for Claude and Codex models through a third-party gateway: what they are, validity windows, and setup in your coding tool.
These listings give you model usage, not a subscription. You get a code or key for a third-party API gateway that serves Claude or OpenAI Codex models, and you point your coding tool at that gateway. It is not an Anthropic or OpenAI account and not an official vendor key.
Two kinds of pack
- Token packs with a short window: Claude 10M tokens for 1 day ($1.99), 50M for 2 days ($5.99), 100M for 3 days ($9.99), and the same sizes for Codex ($1.99 for 10M). The window starts when you redeem, and unused tokens expire with it.
- Dollar credit for 30 days: $100 of Claude usage ($3.99) or $500 ($9.99), spread across the gateway's Haiku, Sonnet and Opus models.
Which tools work
Anything that accepts a custom API endpoint and key: Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, VS Code extensions, 9router and similar clients. The setup guide on your order lists the endpoint and model names.
Setting it up
- Redeem the code on the gateway page linked in your order.
- Create or copy your API key and the endpoint from the gateway dashboard.
- Paste both into your tool's custom provider settings and pick a model.
When to choose this over a subscription
Short packs suit a burst of heavy work (a migration, a big refactor) where you want lots of usage for a day or two. The 30-day credit suits steady agent work without a monthly plan. For an editor with models included, see Cursor or Warp instead.
Frequently asked questions
Can I top up the same key?
Buy another pack; each delivery is its own code or key.
Is my code private?
Your prompts go to the gateway you configure. Use it for work you are comfortable routing through a third-party service.
