Meta Muse Explained: The Personal AI Agent in WhatsApp
Announced September 8, 2026, rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Free for most tasks, with paid plans and Muse Wonder coming to subscribers.
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, announced September 8, 2026. It does not just answer questions: you tell it what needs doing, in the Muse app or straight in WhatsApp, and it takes action, from staying on top of plans to turning long-term goals into steps.
How it works
- Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine with its own browser that holds both the agent and your data.
- It works across the apps you use daily and learns from your conversations.
- At launch it ran on Muse Spark. Meta says its new Muse Wonder models will power more of Muse, rolling out to subscribers first.
- When it buys something it can check out with Link by Stripe, which Meta says makes it the first AI agent covered by Link's purchase protections.
Price and availability
Meta says Muse is free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for more. It is rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai, with AI glasses next.
Muse vs other agents
Muse is a consumer agent for life admin and shopping. Grok Bot targets work across apps with a team of bots, and Hermes and OpenClaw are open-source agents you run yourself. The personal agents comparison puts them side by side.
Frequently asked questions
